INDIAN CURRENCY...TO HAVE NEW FACE...THE NEW SYMBOL

Among the submission of around 3 thousands of new designs ...the one is elected for new indian currency symbol...it is designed by P.G. student of IIT BOMBAY Mr.D.Udhaya kumar...tamilzhan by origin

The concept behind the new design:
The symbol incorporates the letter "Ra" in the Devanagari script. The devnagiri script is distinctive in that it has a Shirorekha (the line on top) that is unique to India and brings out the culture. The two lines and the space in between is meant to represent that the Indian tricolour is flying high.

It also incorporates the roman letter R without the standing line.

Because it incorporates the latin and the Devnagiri script, both Indian and the global community will relate to the symbol.

Little elaboration over Devanagari:

Devanāgarī is part of the Brahmic family of scripts of India, Nepal, Tibet, and South-East Asia. It is a descendant of the Gupta script, along with Siddham and Sharada.

Nagari means nagaram the urban...so Nagari used here in the sense that it is the script of  cultured
establishment.

Deva means "GOD"...So,the language is otherwise called as "urban(e) [script] of the gods", or "divine urban(e) [script]".

So ,this script has a vast cultural background...any way the new symbol is gonna make unique identity to indian currency...the new rupee notes will be available in around six months...!The rupee notes with old symbol is still valid...
