To Activate 3G in AIRTEL and it's 3G schemes.

3G technology is the latest in mobile communications. 3G stands for "third generation" -- this makes analog cellular technology generation one and digital/PCS generation two. 3G technology is intended for the true multimedia cell phone -- typically called smartphones -- and features increased bandwidth and transfer rates to accommodate Web-based applications and phone-based audio and video files.
3G networks have potential transfer speeds of up to 3 Mbps (about 15 seconds to download a 3-minute MP3 song). For comparison, the fastest 2G phones can achieve up to 144Kbps (about 8 minutes to download a 3-minute song). 3G's high data rates are ideal for downloading information from the Internet and sending and receiving large, multimedia files. 3G phones are like mini-laptops and can accommodate broadband applications like video conferencing, receiving streaming video from the Web, sending and receiving faxes and instantly downloading e-mail messages with attachments.
Of course, none of this would be possible without those soaring towers that carry cell-phone signals from phone to phone.3G is a cell phone network protocol.

To activate 3G on your existing Airtel connection steps are below:
1) Check if your city has 3G available
2) Call 12134 to activate 3G or
SM 3G to 121
You will get a response saying reply with “1″ to activate 3G. Send 1 to 121. You will receive 3G profile via SMS within 4 hours. Save that and use it for the Internet applications as you do for 2G.
Make sure your mobile Network setting is set for Dual Mode( 2g/3g UMTS) not just GSM mode.
Airtel has launched it 3g Services on 27th Jan 2011. This page will track the available cities and circles that has 3G services enabled by Airtel.

INSTALLING HUSBAND!

A woman writes to the IT Technical support.....

Dear Tech Support ,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and I noticed a distinct slowdown in the overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewellery applications , which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 , and then installed undesirable programs such as NEWS 5.0 , MONEY 3.0 and CRICKET 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?

Signed,

DEAR Madam ,

First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme. html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update .
If that application works as designed, Husband1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewellery 2.0 and Flowers 3.5...

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband1.0 to default to Silence 2.5 or Beer 6.1.
Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT in any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applicati! ons and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software
to improve memory and performance.
We recommend: Cooking 3.0 and Good Looks 7.7.

Good Luck Madam!

Laughter is the Best Medicine

1. This older man was on the operating table awaiting surgery and he insisted that his son, a renowned surgeon, perform the operation.
As he was about to receive the anesthesia he asked to speak to his son.
"Yes Dad, what is it?"
"Don't be nervous, son, do your best and just remember, if it doesn't go well, if something happens to me... your mother is going to come and live with you and your wife..."

2. An old lady went to her doctor to see what could be done about her constipation.
"It's terrible," she said, "I haven't moved my bowels in a week."
"I see. Have you done anything about it?" asked the doctor.
"Naturally," she replied, "I sit in the bathroom for a half- hour in the morning and again at night."
"No," the doctor said, "I mean do you take anything?"
"Naturally," she answered, "I take a book."

3. Early one morning, John, who works at the local funeral parlour, woke his wife, complaining of severe abdominal pains.
They rushed to the emergency room, at the local hospital, where they gave him a series of tests to determine the source of the pain.
John told his wife not to call in sick for him until they knew what was wrong.
When the results came back, the nurse informed them that, true to their suspicions, he was suffering from a kidney stone.
John`s wife turned to John and asked, "Would you like me to call the funeral parlour now?"
With an alarmed look, the nurse quickly said, "Ma`am, he`s not THAT sick!"

4. A man told his doctor, "I don`t think my wife`s hearing is as good as it used to be. What should I do?"
The doctor replied, "Try this test first. When your wife is at the sink doing dishes, stand fifteen feet behind her and ask her a question. If she doesn`t respond, keep moving closer, asking the same question until she hears you."
He went home and saw his wife preparing dinner. Standing fifteen feet behind her, he said, "What`s for dinner, honey?"
Hearing no reply, he moved up to ten feet behind her and repeated the question.
Still no reply, so he moved to five feet. Still no answer.
Finally he stood directly behind her and said, "Honey, what`s for dinner tonight?"

"FOR THE FOURTH TIME, I SAID CHICKEN, You`d better get your hearing checked!"

5. Wanting to lose weight, a woman placed a picture of a shapely, pinup model in her refrigerator to remind her of her goal.
The reminder worked like a charm as the woman discovered that she had lost ten pounds in the first month of using this method.
The downside to this was that her husband spent so much time going into the fridge to look at the picture that he ended up gaining fifteen pounds!

6. "Hurry!" the doctor commanded his teenage daughter, "Put my stethoscope and medicine box in my car. That was an emergency call from someone who says he will die if I do not turn up immediately."
"Papa, that call was not for you but for me," replied the girl saucily.

7. Once a doctor got a telephone call in the middle of night. The caller sounded very excited.
"Doctor, please come at once. My wife is in great pain and I am sure it is appendicitis”, he said.
The doctor assured him that there was no need to panic. "I will come in the morning."
The man protested, "But doctor, my wife is really serious."
The doctor replied, "I took out your wife s appendix two years ago. She can not have another."
The caller protested, "That is alright doctor, but now I have got another wife!"

What is Love (A Touching story)

'How long will you be poring over that newspaper? Will you come here right away and make your darling daughter eat her food?'

I tossed the paper away and rushed to the scene. My only daughter Sindu looked frightened. Tears were welling up in her eyes. In front of her was a bowl filled to its brim with Curd Rice.

Sindu is a nice child, quite intelligent for her age. She has just turned eight. She particularly detested Curd Rice. My mother and my wife are orthodox, and believe firmly in the 'cooling effects' of Curd Rice!

I cleared my throat, and picked up the bowl. "Sindu, darling, why don't you take a few mouthful of this Curd Rice? Just for Dad's sake, dear And, if you don't, your Mom will shout at me'

I could sense my wife's scowl behind my back. Sindu softened a bit, and wiped her tears with the back of her hands. 'OK, Dad. I will eat - not just a few mouthfuls, but the whole lot of this. But, you should...' Sindu hesitated.

'Dad, if I eat this entire Curd Rice, will you give me whatever I ask for?'

'Oh sure, darling'.

'Promise?'

'Promise'. I covered the pink soft hand extended by my daughter with mine, and clinched the deal.

'Ask Mom also to give a similar promise', my daughter insisted. My wife slapped her hand on Sindu's, muttering 'Promise', without any emotion.

Now I became a bit anxious. 'Sindumma, you shouldn't insist on getting a computer or any such expensive items. Dad does not have that kind of money right now. OK?'

'No, Dad. I do not want anything expensive'. Slowly and painfully, she finished eating the whole quantity. I was silently angry with my wife and my mother for forcing my child eat something that she detested.

After the ordeal was through, Sindu came to me with her eyes wide with expectation. All our attention was on her. 'Dad, I want to have my head shaved off, this Sunday!' was her demand!

'Atrocious!' shouted my wife, 'a girl child having her head shaved off? Impossible!'.

'Never in our family!' my mother rasped. 'She has been watching too much of television. Our culture is getting totally spoiled with these TV programs!'

'Sindumma, why don't you ask for something else? We will be sad seeing you with a clean-shaven head.'

'No, Dad. I do not want anything else', Sindu said with finality.

'Please, Sindu, why don't you try to understand our feelings?' I tried to plead with her.

'Dad, you saw how difficult it was for me to eat that Curd Rice'. Sindu was in tears. 'And you promised to grant me whatever I ask for. Now, you are going back on your words. Was it not you who told me the story of King Harishchandra, and its moral that we should honour our promises no matter what?'

It was time for me to call the shots. 'Our promise must be kept.'

'Are you out your mind?' chorused my mother and wife.

'No. If we go back on our promises, she will never learn to honour her own. Sindu, your wish will be fulfilled.'

With her head clean-shaven, Sindu had a round-face, and her eyes looked big & beautiful.

On Monday morning, I dropped her at her school. It was a sight to watch my hairless Sindu walking towards her classroom. She turned around and

waved. I waved back with a smile. Just then, a boy alighted from a car, and shouted, 'Sinduja, please wait for me!'

What struck me was the hairless head of that boy. 'May be, that is the in-stuff', I thought.

'Sir, your daughter Sinduja is great indeed!' Without introducing herself, a lady got out of the car, and continued, 'That boy who is walking along with your

daughter is my son Harish. He is suffering from ... ... leukaemia.'

She paused to muffle her sobs. 'Harish could not attend the school for the whole of the last month. He lost all his hair due to the side effects of the chemotherapy. He refused to come back to school fearing the unintentional but cruel teasing of the schoolmates. Sinduja visited him last week, and promised him that she will take care of the teasing issue.

But, I never imagined she would sacrifice her lovely hair for the sake of my son! Sir, you and your wife are blessed to have such a noble soul as

your daughter.'

I stood transfixed. And then, I wept.

'My little Angel, will you grant me a boon? Should there be another birth for me, will you be my mother, and teach me what Love is?'

Cool Mouse Pads

One item on your desk you may not pay a lot of attention to is your mouse pad. Mouse pads sit under your mouse, and allow a clean and smooth surface for your mouse to operate efficiently. You may not think much about it until your mouse starts giving you trouble. Even more importantly, someone who works on a computer all day may soon find out that not all mouse pads are created equal.

A huge concern for people who type on their computers all day is carpel tunnel syndrome. This is often the result of stress on the wrist or elbow, and can leave a sufferer in a lot of pain. When a person repeats the same motions over and over again without proper support, or proper form, things can go haywire. Today, there are keyboards that are meant to help the wrists move in the proper position with as little stress as possible. Did you know there are mouse pads that are made for the same reason?

Depending on where you keep your mouse and your pad, you may be twisting your wrist at an unnatural position. When this happens, damage will build up over time, leaving you in a lot of pain. There are some mouse pads made with support for your wrist. If you spend a lot of time on the computer, you may want to consider buying one of these special mouse pads. Some even come with gel for extra comfort and support.

When the computer mouse was first introduced to the public at large, they contained a wheel on the bottom that guided the cursor on the screen. Mouse pads were essential because the ball rolled over them much more efficiently than a desk top. When a mouse pad became old, or dirty, the mouse ball would then have trouble connecting with the pad, and users had a hard time using their computer. If you have ever had the ball mouse, or still have one, you know exactly what I mean.

If you want to eliminate this problem, you can buy a ball-less mouse. These eliminate the need for mouse pads altogether, but many people like to have them anyway. A mouse pad can say a lot about who you are, and many people like to buy mouse pads that are personalized and unique to their personality. No matter what you choose for a mouse pad, the most important feature should be comfort. If you find your wrist is starting to hurt, find one made for your comfort.

Amazing wonders of mathematics

The French mathematician Pierre de Fermat died on the 12th of January 1665.He was born in south of France and became a lawyer after studying law at the university of Toulouse.Fermat was the councillor at the high court of Judicature in Toulouse and mathematics only his hobby.To maintain the status of an amateur and to tease his fellow professional mathematicians ,he provided very little or no proof for his theorems.This naturally led him into fiery debates with his contemporaries ,Descartes and Wallis.Fermat contributed to many branches of Mathematics.In optics he calculated the angle a straw or a spoon appears to be bent at when put in water.

Have you ever observed this ?Try it out!

His most famous theorem called Fermat’s Last Theorem .Fermat stated that you cannot find integers a,b,c (Which are non zero)that satisfy:

a^3 + b^3 = c^3, a^4 + b^4 = c^4,a^5 + b^5 =c^5….a^n + b^n =c^n

for any positive integer n>=3.

For example if a=1 and b=3,then 1^3 +3^3 = 1+27=28=c^3.

But there is no integer c which when cubed ,gives 28.On the page where he wrote down the theorem,he wrote:

“I have a truly marvellousproof of this proposition which this margin is too narrow to contain.”
The proof was only discovered 329 years after fermat’s death,in 1994 ,by Andrew Wiles.

It turned out that fermat’s last Theorem is true for n>=3.

Now we all can accept mathematics is a very interesting and intriguing subject.Many mathematicians world wide have made a lot of discoveries,proved a huge number of theorems ,and have deduced many amzing results.Mathematicians also wanted to have some fun.Therefore they wrote proofs for 2=1.Obviously they had some errors and these are called fallacies.For instance 2=1 is proved in 2 different algebric ways as shown below.

Can you identify which of these steps has the fallacy?

Proof 1:
Let a=b
=>a^2=ab [Multiplying by a on both sides]
=>a^2-b^2=ab-b^2 [subtracting b^2 from both sides]
=>(a-b)(a+b)=(a-b)b [Factorizing both sides ]
=>a+b=b [canceling (a-b) on both sides]
=>b+b=b [substituting a=b]
=>2b=b [simplifying the LHS ]
=>2=1 [Cancelling b on both sides]

Proof 2:
Let a=b
=>a^2=ab [Multiplying by a on both sides]
=>a^2 +a^2=a^2+ab [Adding a^2 on both sides]
=>2a^2=a^2+ab [simplifying the LHS ]
=>2a^2-2ab=a^2+ab-2ab [subtracting 2ab from both sides]
=>2a^2-2ab=a^2-ab [simplifying the RHS ]
=>2(a^2-ab)=a^2-ab [taking out the common factor on LHS]
=>2=1 [Cancelling a^2-ab on both sides]
